Grand theft auto IV ripped and torrented

Just like Halo 3 Grand theft auto IV has been ripped and distributed for free on torrent trackers and rapidshare. Since yesterday grand theft auto 4 PAL version released by iCON was seen and a couple of hours ago the group 101 has released a NTSC version for Americans and Candians. There is no speculation on when the PS3 version of grand theft auto will be released. We’ll keep you posted though.

No commentsMVGroup Tracker Shut Down
TorrentFreak interviewed MVGroup’s admin, Merrin, to see what caused the missing tracker.
In the interview, they discuss what MVGroup is and why it’s suddenly disappeared.
In case you don’t know, MVGroup’s goal is to provide educational material for those who don’t have access. You also don’t have to have a ratio to download content from it. You just ask for seeds for a specific torrent, and hopefully somebody will be willing to help out.
Apparently, a movie agency wrongly shut down the tracker. They thought that they had the movie “The Eye” when really, it was just a documentary series by the same name.
The host panicked and shut down the tracker. It has now been moved to a new host.
They hope to be back up soon.

No commentsSteal This Film!!

Do you share files? Use torrents? Member of the pirate bay? Look at aXXo’s newest releases? Ever wonder where all this comes from, the faces behind it, and who runs this all these trackers and servers?
Then you should check out Steal This Film. It’s a indie film over the torrent/p2p generation , and it’s over the war between copyrights and file sharing. In this movie, you will see the creators of the Pirate Bay, some appearances from the admin of Mininova. These movies are free to download via torrent. It’s a must watch. Definitely worth the time.

No commentsBitTorrent Throttling ISPs Exposed by Azureus

A few months ago Azureus petitioned the FCC, which led to a FCC Hearing in February. One of the complaints from the commission was that there is little data available on the scope of BitTorrent throttling, a gap Azureus now tries to fill by collecting data on the prevalence of TCP-resets among ISPs worldwide. So, sometime last month a plugin was put up for download which allowed you to tell the good from the bad ISPs. Which is just so metal!!! lol, so umm yea to see the report click the link below.

1 commentKonami and Sony…use Bittorrent?

That’s right. Konami uses the PS3’s abilities to distribute the MGO (Metal Gear Online) update to everyone. This is used to make Konami’s servers not go ballistic.
I think that this is an excellent way of distributing updates to people since it only uses the user’s machine to download it from other users and isn’t really hosted anywhere else. I’d love to see this used more in the future.

No commentsThe Pirate Bay Blogging Service to the Rescue!

TPB has announced that they will soon be releasing a blogging service that they promise will not be censored in any way. This new service is called “Baywords” and runs on the Wordpress engine (hey, same here!).
TPB’s Brokep says
“Many blogs are being shut down for uncomfortable thoughts and ideas. We will not do that. Our goal is to protect freedom of speech and your thoughts. As long as you don’t break any Swedish laws in your blog, we will defend it.”
Baywords is trying to include features such as domain redirects and good stats. You can also import your blog easily into the service.
With TPB being infamous, this service should be awesome!

No commentsPurdue University Launches P2P Network to Bypass RIAA

College Students are like a big magnet for the riaa, As of February 2007, the RIAA has dispatched thirteen new waves of litigation letters against U.S. University students in their ‘deterrence’ campaign aimed at more than 5,000 students. But looks like non of that matters to Purdue, Since Purdue has fired up their own P2P file-sharing “intranet” from behind the walls of their campus ISP.
No commentsA student recently said on the Collegeotr.com blog: “Maybe Purdue can’t beat other schools’ music scenes, frat-house parties, hot girls, and what not, but at least we’ve got them beat in the piracy department. After all, we are the #2 school in music piracy as noted by the RIAA.”
How-To: Easily Download Torrents with Multiple Trackers
Back again I see? That’s cool. Anyways, you’re here to learn how to get torrents with lots of trackers right?

But wait, for some of you out there, you may not know what this means. What I mean is that you’re trying to get a torrent and a lot of the trackers who are tracking this as well.
For example, I might want to download a 311 album from Mininova. Let’s say it has 7 seeders and 8 leechers. You look at another tracker and find that it has the same torrent! After downloading it, you find that you now are connected to 20 seeders and 30 leechers! What if you could find most of the sites that are carrying this same torrent and download them all at the same time?
That’s what I come to teach you today.
What you’ll need:
- Mozilla Firefox (Getfirefox.com)
- The Greasemonkey Extension (Firefox Addons)
- The OnCLick Torrentz Userscript for Greasemonkey (Get It Here)
Got it all? Alright, now down to business.
Going with the example from before, you wanna search for 311. Where may you ask? Why, at Torrentz.com of course!
After finding the torrent you want on there, you should be able to click it and have it go to the torrent. After listing all of the trackers that have the same torrent, you’ll see a “get all!” button. Click this button, and you can download from most (because the script cannot handle all of the sites listed as of now) of the sites.

Once you click that button, you should get a lot of pop-up dialogs asking if you’d like to save the file, open it in uTorrent or any other program. Open it in uTorrent (or your respecive torrent client). Saving isn’t necessary, but may be a good idea if you want to refer to that torrent later down the line.
After the dialog boxes are all gone, tell your client that it’s alright to add trackers to the torrent you just added. In a little bit, watch the magic as it *should* go faster!
And that’s it. Simple eh? Sure it was!
Keep it legal and keep it clean! Have fun
