Don’t Copy That Floppy

Yea i thought this was spam when i got it, I have volunteerd at some events for special olympics thats why im on their list, any way, They have decided to send a email to everyone that is in that is in thier system to not see TROPIC THUNDER!!! Cause it uses the R-Word (retard). When i read this email it made me think for a minute, that they are wanting everyone to boycott one movie for the word retard but they dont say any thing about the movies that have people pretending to be retarted or act retarted (the ringer, Bench warmers, ECT ECT) lots of movies make fun of special needs give take, Lots of movies make fun of religion (not saying they dont boy cott) Lots of movies make fun of fat people, Do we over react, meh what ever, just read the email they sent and comment if you think they are over reacting.

While intended to be a satire on Hollywood actors and producers, the film uses the word “retard” in a poor attempt at humor. Special Olympics has joined forces with national disability organizations to combat the use of this word in everyday vernacular.  It is dehumanizing and anything but funny.

I am asking you to help me in this campaign by boycotting the film “Tropic Thunder.” If we can hurt the ticket sales of this film, we will have made a statement to Hollywood that we will not stand for this type of content that is hurtful to people with mental disabilities.

With a statement like “If we can hurt the ticket sales of this film” they sound pretty serious, I guess they think its ok to pirate the movie thou cause they wanna hurt the ticket sales.. meh what ever, we over react in today society

Wow this has been quite a big week for tech news, I mean 3G has happend this week, and E3 is coming next week!!

1. iphone and itouch

Well most of you cant get 3g, so alot of you are still on edge, but from what ive seen 3g is gonna be great, so much faster, and the 2.0 is just amazing, its what the itouch and the iphone was missing to get the full user experience! Heh ive spent most of my day trying out apps and so far i am really impressed, Aim works flawless, you can upload your pics to facebook now out of your iphone, twitter is just sweet on it, and there is lot of fun apps, and the majority of the apps are free!! Amazing huh, so yea you itouch users spend the 10 bucks, definatly worth it, also when everyone gets upgraded make sure you get the remote app, amazing! ive never thought that my itouch or iphone could control my computers music library, i can now be in the kitchen and change music in 3 rooms away with my iphone, its just amazing.

2. Everything E3

Im so sad i wont be around to see all the great E3 Coverage, hopefuly matt or jake posts about it but this year is gonna be the big year for E3, Dont we say that every year? Anyway, tangent, umm this has been a huge summer for gaming we keeping getting great games, Gta4, Mgs4, do i need to say more? But lots of great game are in store, im most excited to see Gears of war 2, i wanna see what ever sony is hiding, halo wars demo , Fable 2, and lots more games.

“Last week we brought you the news that google must provide records of everyone’s youtube video-viewing habits to Viacom, per a legal ruling. As you’d probably expect, privacy advocates on the internet are up-in-arms. As you might not suspect, whether google will appeal the ruling isn’t certain.

“We are disappointed the court granted Viacom’s overreaching demand for viewing history,” Catherine Lacavera, Google’s senior litigation counsel, told The Boston Globe. “We will ask Viacom to respect users’ privacy and allow us to anonymize the logs before producing them under the court’s order.”

She said “before” producing the records. Not “if we produce the records.” Others on the internet are reporting that google has “promised” to appeal, as of yet, though, nothing has been filed.

Viacom says it will not use the records to invade any one’s privacy. They say they need the records to  prove that copyright infringing material on youtube is more frequently viewed than non-infringing material.

We think google should provide only printed copies of their massive databases to Viacom. It wouldn’t do any good, but it would be pretty funny to see the fleets of 18-wheelers hauling a bazillion sheets of paper that prove conclusively that some people like to watch The Family Guy on youtube. -Source : www.g4tv.com/thefeed“

This comferts me on one hand, but on the other hand we just opened a door for them, and we just keep opening it and keep opening it for anti piracy groups, Alot of bad could happen from this one court case thats all im saying. But heres my other problem with it they say they only want this info to “prove that copyright infringing material on youtube is more frequently viewed than non-infringing material” if thats so why dont they go by the views log instead of requesting logs on individual ips and users? i dont understand this, the problem i have with this is now they have the power to go after that guy that makes a sponge bob soulja boy amv, or somone who uploads a epsiode of drake in josh or any viacom material. This is gonna probley end up turing into a orgnaziton like the mpaa.

Camerons Pick

First off let me say this site is offensive, and the site has lots of cussing and is again offensive, thats why its my pick of the week, the website is called men are better than women.. ha, I kinda laughed at the domain when i first saw it on google adsense, then i started reading some of this guys blogs and i was like wth, Heres some of his titles just to show you what im talking about ” Why Women hate sex, Pets are not children, women would vote for hitler, and his first entry 10 reason why men our better”. This site is definatly out there, aperntly hes been on dr.phil and he has a book, the one thing that made this site truly intresting to me was the fact of what the women that read this site thought, alot of them agreed… WTH!!, and of course alot of the women hate him, I dont hate him, but i think his site is low and degrading, definatly worth reading some of his blogs thou, so thats why www.menarebetterthanwomen.com is my pick of the week.

ok this is a off week for me, and im back for a week posting news, i got a bunch of gear coming in on monday as well as 2 tuts next week, so ill be back for good soon, we need staff so if anyone is intrested hit matt or i up at any time, we treat our staff right here, free demonoid, christian torrents passes and many other cool things, we our starting the podcasts back up in august, and we our working on much more so right now would be the best time to join our staff

As you may or may not have noticed, I’ve been posting a lot of tutorials lately, and not much news. I’ve been trying to put out more original content than just a bunch of sourced stuff. I need some more tutorial ideas, so if you need help with anything at all, I’ll make a tutorial on it.

Cameron is at summer camp, and won’t be posting much, if at all. What this means is, I need a dedicated staff member for posting news. Cheap shoppers, waiting for the next gen console trend to die down so you can get some sweet action at a low price (you know who you are). Right now might be your time, microsoft is fixing to have a price drop, but thats not even where im going with this, you can get a xbox 360 right now off ebay for under 160 with shipping, and really your thinking its used, its from ebay its gonna be crap, 80 percent of my gear and clothes come from ebay and they are like new or still have tags and factory plastic on them, so dont drown out the idea of ebay.
