national disability organizations and special olympics warning people not to see tropic thunder
Yea i thought this was spam when i got it, I have volunteerd at some events for special olympics thats why im on their list, any way, They have decided to send a email to everyone that is in that is in thier system to not see TROPIC THUNDER!!! Cause it uses the R-Word (retard). When i read this email it made me think for a minute, that they are wanting everyone to boycott one movie for the word retard but they dont say any thing about the movies that have people pretending to be retarted or act retarted (the ringer, Bench warmers, ECT ECT) lots of movies make fun of special needs give take, Lots of movies make fun of religion (not saying they dont boy cott) Lots of movies make fun of fat people, Do we over react, meh what ever, just read the email they sent and comment if you think they are over reacting.

I invite you to be a fan of dignity and join me in a campaign to stop the use of the “R-word” (retard). This week, the film “Tropic Thunder” opens in movie theaters across the nation. While intended to be a satire on Hollywood actors and producers, the film uses the word “retard” in a poor attempt at humor. Special Olympics has joined forces with national disability organizations to combat the use of this word in everyday vernacular. It is dehumanizing and anything but funny.
I am asking you to help me in this campaign by boycotting the film “Tropic Thunder.” If we can hurt the ticket sales of this film, we will have made a statement to Hollywood that we will not stand for this type of content that is hurtful to people with mental disabilities.

With a statement like “If we can hurt the ticket sales of this film” they sound pretty serious, I guess they think its ok to pirate the movie thou cause they wanna hurt the ticket sales.. meh what ever, we over react in today society
